Summer retro-blogging

Is it a cop-out to blog-post about previous blog-posts? Well, too bad.

I was looking over last summer's posts, and two of them caught my eye. The first is called "Three generations of summer fun" and features summertime photos of my mother and one of her sisters, a threesome from my generation (there you go, Cuz - you're famous now!), and a couple of our children when they were small. Three distinct eras - as illustrated by the pictures - but all full of happy summer kids.

The second summer-fun post is "You take-em your honey, don't need-em much money" about the local Chattanooga amusement park, Lake Winnepesaukah. Good times. What I wouldn't give for a couple of rides on The Scrambler or the Ferris Wheel. Or the Tilt-a-Whirl. Or those Swings that went around and around up in the air. Pure-T-D-lightful!

Well, maybe retro-blogging is shabby, but I had fun looking at the pictures again.

Great photos. And I like the idea of retro-blogging. It's not shabby at all! Maybe sometime you'll re-blog your favorite post of all time?

Not at all shabby cause I had not discovered your blog last summer...so it gave me a chance to read them for the first time.

Mary , I took my grandson there last summer. It really has changed but not that much. The boat chute still runs and the urban legend of the snake up the lady's neck still lives on!! Of course all of the has-beens and wanna-bees still perform free every Sunday at the "juke-box junction".
I remember seeing Chubby Checker there one time. What a place.....

elsie and em - OK, then I won't feel bad about retro-blogging. I was afraid I was blog-copping-out!

Jay - I think it would be so much fun to go back to Lake Winnie sometime. Glad to hear the Boat Chute legands are still around! Just hope I won't be too old and creaky by the time I make it back.

Thanks for the memories. If that's Grant Park, Ms. Cindy was sure dressed up just to visit the elephant house.

No cotton candy for Mary. She ditched it in favor of a fresh green bell pepper.

Love,
Cuz

Well, cuz, Ms. Cindy was a prissy little thing, so it stands to reason she'd be more decked out than we were. ;-) I'm sure I'm barefooted. Lil sis always had more class.

And I think the empty cotton candy cone is in my hot little hands, so I'd obviously wolfed it down. Bring on the bell pepper!

I always enjoy looking at old photos, bringing back memories. No shame at all in retro-blogging!
