Now, to be fair, there's only one Peachtree Street. But I will own up to the fact that there's also a Peachtree Road, Peachtree Place, Peachtree Battle Road, Peachtree-Dunwoody Road, Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, Peachtree Circle . . . ;-)
I'm ashamed to say that all I know about Atlanta is that it was a huge bonfire in 'Gone With the Wind', and I don't even know if that was fact or fiction.
Who knows? The most confusing thing is that the original Peachtree Street becomes Peachtree Road, which becomes Peachtree Industrial Boulevard 'way out on the outskirts of the city. Kind of like Broadway that runs not only through New York City, but happens to run through several states. On the other hand, the "Peachtrees" are fairly few in a big city with lots of other street names. It probably stands out because "Peachtree" is an unusual name.
The burning of Atlanta is fact. That's why the official symbol of the city is a phoenix rising. Margaret Mitchell wouldn't have lied about something as important as that! ;-)

I like Atlanta but I hate how every street is called Peachtree.

Tamar, the honor would be all Shorty's. Do try to carve out a chunk of time, because you know we'll have plenty to talk about! Just say when.
