Eye Was a Teenage Werewolf

My left eye has been turning into a real monster lately. Every other week or so, it decides to swell up, water, and look spooky. No, I haven't been wearing a contact lens in that eye. Last weekend at the conference in Virginia, it felt like I had an eyeful of ground glass. It turned blood red and hurt like all git-out.

I've been to the eye doctor every day this week - and yes, I'm scheduled again tomorrow. The good news is that there is no ground glass in my eye (coulda fooled me). The bad news is that I have 3 abrasions on my cornea, and we can't figure out why. I've been on two different eye-drop therapies this week. At present, I'm putting antibiotic drops in every hour (earlier, it was every 15 minutes). Seems they can't figure out if it's just surface abrasions or something viral.

Anyway, if things aren't better by tomorrow morning, they're sending me to a corneal specialist. And tomorrow's Friday the 13th. I'm moaning already.

Have you been winking at men as you walk Bailey in the park?

Darn, PT, I totally forgot to ask the doctor if repeated, vigorous winking at New York firemen would cause the abrasions! I'll bring it up this morning when I go in for my check-up.

Ouch! Does not sound like a walk in the park...

(pun fully intended...)

Hope they discover it is something quick and simple to treat. As I just poured my 2nd cup of coffee I glanced at the calendar adjacent to the pot and muttered a few obscenities under my breath when I saw it was Friday the 13th. OK, back to bed until tomorrow...
