The last time it rained this hard in New York City . . .

. . . Audrey Hepburn was kissing George Peppard in Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Note: just because it's raining hard in New York, doesn't mean you'll be kissing George Peppard on some Upper East Side street. (Not that I went out looking or anything.) Or that you'll look as good as Audrey Hepburn soaking wet.

Still, I'm safe and dry (until I venture forth to work). Didn't lose power or spring any leaks - thank goodness - but it's still pissin' down outside, so anything can happen I suppose. I'm also grateful that I didn't have to fly in and out of the city this weekend. Lots of stranded folks out there, my boss-lady being one of them.

Well, time to break out the snorkel-gear and head for work. I figure, Australian Crawl to work, Back Stroke from work, what'd'ya' think?

How is it that some people look good when they're soaking wet and I just look ... wet. No, worse than that: pathetic.

I hope your rain isn't going to head across the Atlantic befroe Saturday! Tell it to hang round a bit, will you, please?

Good to see you back blogging more often, Mary.

Mary, all we keep hearing here is that Central Park got more rain than it's had in twenty something years. April showers... your May should be pretty spectacular.

It's hard to imagine anyone looking as good as Audrey -- ever. But I bet you're as close as one can get.

Thinking of you in all your wetness Mary. I've been trying to get the updates on what's happening by you. I can't believe the Boston Marathon actually took place in all of this mess. Stay as dry as possible...and safe.

Well, it looks like the worst has passed. We'll spend the next few days drying out, but I think we'll survive.

And Elsie, how did you know I looked like Audrey Hepburn? A big fat Audrey Hepburn . . . ;-)
