The real Lola

Good friend Carey reminded me that we have a real Lola in our family.

Though our Lola is one of daughter's four dogs, she is hands-down the Alpha Dog in the house. She's the tiniest canine of the brood - which consists of two chihuahuas (Lola and Little Man), one Australian shepherd (Tripps), and one border collie/lab mix (Zoe) - but that does not stop her from ruling the roost. Everyone (and every dog) knows she's boss, so it doesn't cause any problems. She thinks nothing of taking a toy away from the bigger dogs or sitting wherever she pleases.

I've never been a fan of small dogs, but Lola is hard to resist. She's just so matter-of-fact about her power to rule (plus she can be real cuddly), that she's a very appealing little thing.

And it's true: whatever Lola wants, Lola gets!

Hey, you know I'm a big cat lover, but that little Lola steals my heart! Thanks for the photo! Is she in the wedding? Can I carry her down the aisle?
Love, lil sis

I see no problem with Kate's godmother carrying her god-dog down the aisle. Let's run it by the bride, eh?

My Lola Bean. What a crooked little face! SO sweet. She's with me at work today and I told her GrandMary wrote a blog about her. All signs point to her being pleased. Her tail is still wagging. XOXO

Joanna may want to enter the running for Lola's escort at the wedding! At least once a month she begs for a chihuahua, and this is, of course, all because of Lola and her cute and seductive ways! Lola has even charmed that Refrigerator Perry-sized boy of mine, and the image of him carrying Miss Lola around will always stick in my mind as completely endearing and totally hilarious!

Alas, Lil Sis and Joanna, I think Bride has determined that she does not want to be upstaged by a chihuahua on her wedding day.I suspect Miss Lola will be dog-sitting Little Man, Zoe, and Tripps during the festivities. (Don't think Bride didn't consider the offers, though.)

Yes. After postulating about having Lola as part of the wedding (and it was given consideration), I have to accept that I would no doubt be upstaged by a four pound chihuahua on my wedding day. Thanksgiving and Christmas I can handle, but my fragile ego won't allow me to yield to the cuteness that is Lola.

PS - Aunt Cindy and Carey, we do need a Lola-sitter for our honeymoon . . .
