Tea beside the fire: Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Don the green, have a Guinness, and throw Darby O'Gill and the Little People into your DVD player - it's St. Patrick's Day!

New York is home to the biggest St. Patrick's Day parade in the world (no surprise, there), but due to a couple of ill-timed meetings today, I won't be able to sneak out and witness it. Maybe next year. Last year, I was in Africa, remember?

Enjoy the day! I leave you with this Irish blessing:

"May you always have walls for the winds,
A roof for the rain, tea beside the fire,
Laughter to cheer you, those you love near you,
And all your heart might desire."

Mmmmm. Tea beside the fire.

Too late, Mary!

This year we all painted ourselves green, wore shamrocks (we couldn't afford real rocks!), wor green plastic hats and drank far too much Guinness two days ago, on Saturday:

That hasn't stopped Ireland from having a public holiday today though!

Aww! If only we'd known, we coulda celebrated Saturday AND today! Good point about not celebrating St. Paddy's during Holy Week, but trust me, nothing could stop New York's celebration, even if Good Friday or Easter fell on March 17. Top o' the mornin' to ya', friend.

Now if you could come up with a real party angle to St. George's Day . . . .
