No doubt a great dog in the Brownie tradition. But remember, shelters are full of wonderful animals eagerly awaiting someone who will take them into their home and heart.
Yes, Bailey was a dog in the Brownie tradition (though I didn't take her every where I went!). I think I'll be dogless until I get back to Atlanta. I travel so much that to break in a wonderful new dog wouldn't work now. I'll just cuddle all the New York dogs.
We've had (and HAVE) some great animals in the family - Arthur, Omar, Brownie, Bailey, Sherlock, and, of course, Lola. We always seem to make plenty of room for kids and animals!
Mary. I'm sooooooo sorry. I loved that dog. Bailey embarked (no pun intended) on her great New York adventure late in life, and did it with great style. She passed away on Claire's birthday, so we'll always pour some kibble on the curb as we toast Claire on February 19th.
Oh no!!! Oh Mary, I'm so sorry. Bailey was the first dog Harvey and I 'met' in the blogworld. I didn't realise she was quite that old so thought she'd just go on and on. Bless her and bless you. xx and a big lick from George.
Every one of us who has known and lost a Bailey ("Bitsy," in my case -- whose grizzled puss looked a lot like your dear friend's) share your grief, Mary. It's just plain the pits to come home to an empty apartment/house. Aren't we lucky to have known such love, though? Hugs from Maseno and me.
Mary, I am so sorry about Bailey and also that I am just finding out--especially since you called when Dixie died. I feel just terrible, but she is lapping up the treats (good ones) in doggie heaven with Dixie--and they share! Linda Burke

What a sweetheart! She lived a wonderful life...all doggies and kitties should be so lucky.
