Meredith Grey, th...Do you watch Grey's Anatomy? Meredith Grey, the main character, is the daughter of a once brilliant surgeon who succumbed to dementia and in the series I'm currently watching, Meredith has decided to be tested for it. <br /><br />Anyway, that aside, it is a teriffying thought. The worst time I imagine is when you are still lucid enough to realise what is happening. After that the burden falls on your family I suppose.<br />And they say the numbers are set to increase dramatically. Our church has taken over the running of a care provision - one afternoon a week - for people living with dementia and their carers, and the authorities are going to be under so much pressure in the future to provide care that it's likely that more and more will depend on charities.<br />What a cheerful post!
