Well. No Halloween here. Guess it is just an American thing. This is the first year in my recollection that I haven't carved a pumpkin, roasted pumpkin seeds, and out-and-out decorated for All Hallows' Eve (though I did give it a tip o' the hat at my NY office, with little plastic jack o' lanterns that light up). But I'm in England at a conference and there is not one - not one - jack o' lantern in sight. Sigh.Y'all celebrate for me, eh? Happy Halloween!
Will do, Mary. There's no escaping Halloween at my place!!
ReplyDeleteWe have some Halloween here at the office. Just a bit.
ReplyDeleteAccording to my son, Halloween has been cancelled by the school and the council - all the more reason to go trick-or-treating, in my opinion...
He'll be out tonight in his Pirate Werewolf costume...!
Thanks, Elsie - have a few Tootsie Pops for me!
ReplyDeleteJo - I do love the werewolf pirate idea as Thomas described it Sunday. Please post a picture to your blog, or send one to me via email. I must see the end result! (And don't forget to show up at Pete's early enough to get the Toblerone!
We'll be thinking about you Mary. I swear the tradition of Halloween just keeps getting weirder every year. My daughter is a teacher; and all the schools within her district are celebrating Halloween differently. Her school celebrated it Friday. A couple did yesterday. A couple will today. And there's even a couple who aren't letting the kids dress-up at all. Can you believe that? That's just wrong. I NEVER get a lot of trick or treaters anymore...I guess that depends on the neighborhood; and ours has grown up considerably. Oh well, I still love the holiday. Happy Halloween Mary!
ReplyDeleteHalloween was well represented in Fort Myers, Florida. Unfortunately we weren't there for the 'trick-or-treating' as we were flying out on 31st but plenty of airport staff (and some passengers) entered into the spirit of the thing by dressing up.
